What's a day like at Camp Tannadoonah?

We keep campers busy all day at camp! By the time we return to our cabins at night, everyone is sure to be tired.

Most camp days begin when the bugle plays reveille at 7:30am, although some early birds may choose to attend the Polar Bear swim first thing in the morning, before everyone else is out of bed! Campers and staff gather at the flag pole to raise the flag and start the day with morning announcements. Then we head to the Dining Hall for a hearty breakfast.

Campers return to their cabins to clean up for the Golden Broom competition, and then head out for their morning activities. At 11:30am, campers may choose between heading to the lake for morning Free Swim, off to the Trading Post to do some shopping, to the shower house for a shower, or just hang out in their cabin or at the Trading Post porch with friends.

Hungry campers show up for lunch at 12:30, and Rest Hour follows lunch. After our only bit of down time during the day, campers head to the Trading Post for an afternoon snack. Every camper receives one sweet treat and one not-sweet treat at store. Then it's off to their afternoon activities and another Free Swim.

Campers and staff gather again at the flag pole to take down the flag and hear evening announcements, then we head to the Dining Hall for our evening meal. A variety of options are offered at both lunch and dinner, including a healthy salad bar, and of course, dessert.

After dinner, the nightly entertainment begins. Evening activities include Carnivals, Talent Shows, Capture the Flag, Cabin nights, Cookout, and many others. Following evening activity, we gather around the fire for a Song Circle to wind down for the night. Then everyone heads back to the cabin for some time to reflect on the day. At 10pm, the sound of Taps can be heard all across Birch Lake, as campers settle in their cabins for flashlight time and sleep.
