Earn Your Way to Camp
Camp Fire and Camp Tannadoonah offer several great ways to make the camp experience more affordable for our camp families in 2012. You can contact our office at 574-234-4145 or email info@riverbendcampfire.org for more information about any of these Earn Your Way to Camp activities.
Refer a Friend
For every NEW camper you refer for 2012, you’ll receive a $25 credit towards camp.
Scentsy Product Sales
We have an exciting new earn your way to camp option this spring! Campers can now sell Scentsy products in order to earn funds towards their camp attendance, and help Camp Tannadoonah at the same time! Here’s how it works: You call us to get a Scentsy fundraiser packet; then you have one month to sell as many items as you can. Return your packets to the office along with the money for the orders, and in approximately 2 weeks your products will be available for pickup. We can even have the items shipped to you, if you live outside the South Bend area! Our Scentsy representative, Jamie Smith, will even hold an open house before the sale starts if you want to look at some of the actual items in the catalog. Anyone can participate, even if you don’t live nearby! Fifteen percent of what you sell will go towards your camper’s fees, and 5% will benefit our Camp T. Papa Murphy’s Pizza Sales
Sell Take and Bake Pizzas from Papa Murphy’s in Granger. Earn $7-$11 towards camp fees for every pizza you sell. Get your order forms from our office and start selling anytime!
Fun Run
Get pledges for running laps in the Fun Run, and 25% of what you raise goes to your camp fees. Here’s how it works: The Fun Run is a mini version of a walk-a-thon. Each participant is asked to complete at least 20 mailers to be sent to their family and friends, requesting sponsorship. The mailers will have to be completed as directed, stamped, and returned to the Camp Fire office by March 23rd. The participant will receive a Fun Run t-shirt for completing their mailers. From this point, the Camp Fire office will manage the forms and collection of any donations. Participants are welcome to send out more than 20 mailers if they wish, as there will be a contest for the most money raised by April 18th. Participants will get 25% of what they raise to go towards their 2012 Camp Tannadoonah fees!
On the day of the event (April 20th), the start time will be promptly at 7pm. Fun Runners should arrive no later than 7pm. Fun Runners will be encouraged to complete as many laps as they can accomplish in one hour. If your child is unable to be at the Fun Run on the 20th, we can arrange for them to do their laps on another date. If your child participates in the Fun Run event, they will receive a Camp Fire Fun Run emblem.
Old 2 Gold at Notre Dame
Earn $10 or more toward camp for every hour you work. You can help set up the sale, work at the sale, and clean up afterwards. Last year our workers earned $13 per hour, all of which is applied to your camp fees. All workers must be 18 or older. More information will be available Spring 2012.
Car Wash
Sell tickets for $5 and every ticket you sell goes directly to your camp fees. You can also work the car wash and earn a share of the sales for the day. Youth who work the car wash must be accompanied by a parent. More information will be available Spring 2012.
ND Football Stadium Booths
Must be 18 or older, participants earn $75-$120/game in camp credit. Information will be available for the 2012 season in Spring or Summer 2012.
Note: If you have already paid for camp, you can still participate! Any money you earn through these fundraisers will be applied as a credit to your account – you can attend another week of camp, or get a refund.
Campership Funding
Need help to send your child to camp? Camp Tannadoonah offers financial aid for camp in the form of full or partial “camperships.” This campership fund is for campers whose families demonstrate financial need (it is not a merit-based scholarship). If you would like to apply for financial aid, please download and send in a campership application. The deadline for applications is April 30th.
Please note: campers who received campership funding in 2011 are only eligible for funding up to 50% of the cost of camp the subsequent summer (except under exceptional circumstances).
If you are applying for campership funding, please do not register your camper for camp until you have received notification of any campership funds that have been awarded.
